I'm not as well versed in car audio as I should be, but if you have any questions regarding home audio, I'm your guy.  I've played with it for 40+ years and actually dealt in it for a long time.

I also refurbish a lot of it myself now as a hobby.

that's pretty cool.

I wish I could afford a good home audio system, but since I'm in a duplex of sorts my neighbors probably wouldn't appreciate it as much as me.

right now I use a DAC with a built in amp that I run optical to from my PS4 and a set of Audio Techinca Over Ear head phones.  It gets pretty full sound.

I also use a THX 10 inch 100 watt RMS sub with 2 35 watt rms component speakers.  not particularly awe inspiring, but since most computer speaker setups use a 35 watt sub and 5 watt speakers, it sounds pretty good comparatively.

I just wish I knew how to solder worth a damn.  the audio plug went bad and I tried to fix it myself (via soldering a new plug on) and now it cuts in and out depending on how I jiggle the wire.  I might try to re do it with some crimped connector ends, but the wires are so thin that I'm not sure if they will take.

Are the speakers made by Fosgate or Logitech?  ...or are they another brand?   Believe it or not that PS4 actually has a pretty good audio processor in it.   The Blu Ray player is also top notch.

logitech I think.

the other thing I'm looking to upgrade would be my phone.

my samsung had a top of the line integrated DAC, but it got wet while camping and died.  I got a cheapy $40 phone to replace it but the sound is weak.

I may have to invest in a real phone again at some point and maybe a good set of bluetooth headphones.  I need to research which models are using quality audio components, or if I would be better off investing in a portable digital audio player.  phones tend to be easier to search music and make playlists etc, than DAPs though.

I may have those same Logitechs.  I picked mine up for under $40.00 off Amazon.

I'm not into phone audio at all.  I've broke so many and hate shopping for new ones. Almost as much as I hate dealing with auto mechanics.

yeah, I'm not a fan of monthly payments in general.  I generally do my own mechanic work, but definitely miss working on classic cars.  modern cars are such a PITA.  but my little 4 cylinder camry is gets better gas mileage than the 5000 pound V8s I used to drive.

lol no.  the camry isn't cool but I love it because its the first car I've owned in decades that doesn't have an overheating problem.

if I had my way though, I'd be driving a Mopar, preferably late 60's.  Heck, I could fit 4 15's in that trunk and still have room for dead hookers...err...uhh nevermind.

John Zorn can be considered a prolific jazz composer.  last I checked he has a discography of over 300 albums with various musicians.

I'm not sure this can be considered Jazz as much as a clinic on how to abuse your saxophone.

The music is crazy, but whats crazier is that it can be played by a human.

O. M. G.  that is sick

that car would be worth a lot more than $1,200 now.

my brother had a 73 duster with a slant six that he bought when he was like 15.  He got in trouble with the law, so my dad sold it for like $300 bucks.  I don't my brother has ever forgiven him to this day.

My first car was a 67 mustang with a 289.  Loved that car but not having power steering or an AC was its downfall. Hard to talk chicks into the backseat during the middle of the summer when it's 975 degrees in the car.

I had a few first cars, some how I never got to drive them. they all ended up getting towed or stolen or some crap. but the one I consider my real first car that I actually owned long enough to drive, was a black 88 Lincoln Towncar.  It was a beast.  it had the clearance to drive over curbs in the city or dirt roads in the country.  It was roomy and sported a 302.

My second was a 69 Camaro SS with a 396, you could boil both tires as it had posi track. I think the rear end was 411

of course now that I'm 6-4 230 I'm not sure I would fit in it.

finally got it installed.  ended up going with a 500rms alpine amp and a 12" alpine type s sub that together cost about $300 with shipping.  that wasn't bad, but once you throw in the box and all the various wiring and random hardware, it added well over another $100.  but not too bad for a budget system.

I have to admit though, it is so nice having a full range of sound in my car.  now comes the fun part of tweaking all the high pass and low pass filters, etc.

My 1st squad leader in Afghanistan was 6'4 and about 250. He fell out of a patrol once (kinda his fault, but kinda not) and after attempting to carry his big ass back to the COP, I told him next time he wants to take a nap in a litter, I'm cutting off his big ass legs first so he'll be easier to carry.

Funny thing was, I told his dad that joke at our coming home Ball, and he laughed harder than anyone. And he was a Marine Lieutenant General.
